Join us for the launch of This Magazine's new film screening series at the TRANZAC (292 Brunswick Avenue, Toronto), featuring documentaries and narrative films that tackle current political and social issues.
The series kicks off on September 25, 2013 with WAL-TOWN, director Sergeo Kirby's NFB-produced look at the business practices of mega-retailer Wal Mart and the ongoing debate of the company's effect on towns across Canada. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by This Magazine editor Lauren McKeon, debating some of the issues raised by the documentary and the current Kensington Wal-Mart proposal.
The event will also launch the magazine's second annual Corporate Hall of Shame issue (September/October 2013), our ranking of Canadian companies that have been up to no good. Get your tickets now before they sell out! Your $15.00 ticket includes entry to the event, a copy of the 2013 Corporate Hall of Shame issue, and, as a bonus, the 2012 Corporate Hall of Shame issue (Complete the set!
